CLR maintains CSE lead

CLR Securities & Financial Services maintained its lead as the brokerage firm with the highest CSE market share, while the CSE rankings also show that 6 firms control 80% of the market.

The CSE data showed that CLR had a 20.4% share of the CSE market in May, down slightly from April’s 21% stake. CISCO, the investment banking arm of BOC was in second place with a 14.65% share, slightly lower than April’s 15% share. Sharelink Securities & Financial Services were in third place during May with a 13.13% share, down slightly from 14% in April, while Atlantic was the biggest winner, lifting its share in May to 11.3% from 9% in April.

Laiki and Egnatia followed in fifth and sixth positions with a 10.98% and 10.42% respective shares.

The CSE data also showed CLR maintaining its lead in overall market share for the period January-May 2006 with a 17.51% share, up from 16.09% in Jan-April. CISCO is in second place in the overall year-to-date rankings with a 15.4% shares (Jan-Apr 15.8%), followed by Sharelink in third place with a 13.88% share (Jan-Apr 14.2%). Egnatia, Atlantic and Laiki Securities follow with 12.4%, 10.5% and 10.3% respective shares.
