Building permits edge higher

The Statistical Service announced that the number of building permits authorised by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during February 2006 stood at 853. The total value of these permits reached CYP 111,9 mln and the total area 265,800 square metres. These building permits provide for the construction of 1.481 dwelling units.

During the period January – February 2006, 1.628 building permits were issued, registering an increase of 6.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The total value of these permits increased by 3.6% while the total area was reduced by 1.3%. ?he number of dwelling units recorded a decrease of 0.9%.
