Cypriot foreign minister to take part in EU-NATO informal meeting

Cypriot Foreign Minister George Iacovou left for Sophia on Wednesday to take part in the Informal Meeting of the EU-NATO Foreign Ministers.

It is expected that Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul will attend the meeting for the first time since Cyprus joined the EU.

Turkey did not attend the two previous EU-NATO meetings because of Cyprus’ presence, citing other reasons.

During his stay in Sophia, Iacovou is due to meet on Friday with Bulgarian Minister for European Affairs Meglena Kuneva.
