…women aged 25-45 make up bulk of sales
Top Kinisis Public Co. Ltd., the largest travel agency group unveiled its state-of-the-art online reservation and sales web page for airline tickets, hotels, packages and other leisure services including booking a place at the popular Athens night clubs.
Akis Kelepeshis, TOP Chairman said at a news conference that the web site located at www.topkinisis.com has been in development the past three years, in association with Intracom of Greece.
The system allows visitors to choose from a variety of services including air tickets for all scheduled airlines, charter flights, reservations in selected hotels around the world, organised excursions, car rentals, cruises and other special offers and specialised services.
The system also allows travel agents, associates of Top Kinisis to make their reservations through the online site on a real-time basis.
“Last summer, our associate travel agents placed CYP 1.5 mln of sales through the web site, making up 25% of our summer season sales,” said Kelepeshis.
Top Kinisis Executive Director, Dinos Kakkouras explained that the system is, “interactive and allows the user to confirm his or her selected reservations in real time and choose the way in which their documents are delivered. It is a complete, user-friendly system, considered to be among the best in Europe.
“We are confident that the system will meet the needs of the Cyprus market and give the opportunity to our clients to view their options, plan their travel arrangements and make their purchases online, in a secure way, from the comfort of their home or office, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

Kakkouras said that the number of web users is on the rise in Cyprus with women, aged between 25-45 making the bulk of on-line reservations, which are steadily climbing.
“During the summer, at any point of time, there were more than 200 persons on the site checking offers, searching for travel ideas and comparing prices, with more than 10% eventually deciding to close a deal online,” said Kakkouras.
