European Politics Beyond Capitals

In the context of the German Days at the University of Cyprus (UCY), October 12-31, the German Embassy and the University of Cyprus are hosting an open panel discussion on “European Politics Beyond Capitals: The role of Federal States in European Politics,” on Thursday at 7.30pm.

The event will see scholars, politicians and the public discuss the important question of participation in European politics on the level of Federal States.

Following an introduction by Prof. Christos N. Schizas, Vice Rector for International Relations, UCY, the discussion, which is open to the public, will take place in the Main Hall of the University, Kallipoleos Street, Nicosia.

The main participants are Christoph Grimm, President of the Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, and Dr. Karl-Heinz Klär, State Secretary for European Affairs of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Dr. Michael Attalides, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate the discussion which will be held in German. Simultaneous translation into Greek will be provided and a reception will follow.
