Eurostat confirms Cyprus Q1 GDP at 3.9%

Gross domestic product (GDP) in Cyprus rose in real terms by 3.9% in the first quarter of 2005 compared with the same period of the previous year, according to latest figures from the European Union statistical service Eurostat.

This figure confirms data released earlier by the Cyprus statistical service CYSTAT, which showed that the economy rebounded in the first quarter, having slowed slightly to growth of 3.3% in the fourth quartr of 2004. gCompared with the previous quarter, GDP rose in real terms by 0.8%.

In the EU25, real GDP rose by 1.6% year on year, while in the eurozone, it rose by 1.4%.

Compared with the previous quarter, both EU25 and eurozone growth reached 0.5%.
