Cyprus exports up 20.9%

On the basis of preliminary estimates for Foreign Trade in May 2005, total imports/ arrivals were CYP 237.4 mln, of which CYP 162.9 mln were arrivals from other Member States of E.U. and CYP 74.5 mln imports from Third countries. Total exports/dispatches were CYP 55.8 mln of which CYP 39.0 mln were dispatches to other Member States of E.U. and CYP 16.8 mln exports to Third Countries.

Total imports/arrivals for the period January – May 2005 increased by 5.1% to CYP 1,118.2 mln (EUR 1.9 bln), compared to CYP 1,063.8 mln in January – May 2004. Total exports / dispatches for the period January – May 2005 increased by 20.9% and valued at CYP 258.6 mln, in comparison with CYP 214.0 mln in the corresponding period of 2004.
