Imports and exports boom

On the basis of preliminary estimates for foreign trade in February 2005, total imports/ arrivals rose by 31.5% year on year to CYP 209.6 mln, of which CYP 133.3 mln were arrivals from other Member States of EU and CYP 76.3 mln imports from third countries.

Total exports/dispatches rose by 36.9% to CYP 45.9 mln of which CYP 27.8 mln were dispatches to other Member States of EU and CYP 18.1 mln exports to third countries.

Total imports/arrivals for the period January-February 2005 expanded by 19.0% and amounted to CYP 400.1 mln, compared to CYP 336.3 mln in January-February 2004.

Total exports/ dispatches for the period January-February 2005 increased by 45.3% and valued at CYP 90.2 mln, in comparison with CYP 62.0 mln in the corresponding period of 2004.
