Inflation at 2.8% in February

The Consumer Price Index for February 2005 increased by 0,03 units or 0,03% to 118,75 units compared to 118,72 in January 2005, the Statistics Department announced. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of petroleum products and medical care while decreases have been recorded in the prices of telephone rates.

The rate of increase of the Index for February 2005 compared to February 2004 was 2,80%, while for the period January-February 2005 the CPI recorded an increase of 2,88% compared to the corresponding period of 2004.
