Cypriot Marios Lefkaritis was elected Friday as UEFA’s treasurer, during UEFA’s executive committee meeting in Nyon, Switzerland, under the chairmanship of Michel Platini, who was elected to the presidency at UEFA’s congress in Dusseldorf last month.
Lefkaritis was also appointed as member of the FIFA Executive Committee.
According to a UEFA press release, ”the seat in question within the world football body is the European seat vacated by Michel Platini, because the latter is taking up a seat as ex-officio FIFA vice-president in his capacity as President of UEFA.”
