CYPRUS: Inflation down in July

The Harmonised Price Index decreased by 0.1% in July compared to the same month last year, but remained stable when compared to the June Index, the statistical service Cystat reported.


 
For the January to July period, the HICP recorded an increase of 1.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Compared to July 2016, food and non-alcoholic beverages had the biggest negative change (-5.1%), while the most positive change was in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (7.4%).
Compared to the June HICP, clothing and footwear had the greatest change (-16.2%).
For the January to July period, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest change was in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (8.8%).
