CYPRUS: Trade deficit for January – July accelerates by 7.6%

Cyprus trade deficit in the seven months of 2014 increased by €137 million or 7.6%, reaching 1,938 million compared with 1,801 ml in the corresponding period of 2013.

According to Cyprus` Statistical Service, total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) in January-July 2014 amounted to €2.844,1mn as compared to €2.764,6mn in January-July 2013.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January-July 2014 were €905.7 mn compared to €963 mn in January-July 2013.

In July 2014 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) valued at €461.7mn.

Furthermore, total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in July 2014 amounted to €130,3mn. Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were €61,8mn whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were €68,6mn.
