The ports infrastructure in Cyprus is among the best in the EU, the European Commission has said.

In its first ever EU Transport Scoreboard, which compares member state performance in 22 transport-relevant categories and highlights for most categories the five top and bottom performers, the Commission says “the port infrastructure of Cyprus is rated amongst the best in the EU”.
It notes however that “Cyprus receives low scores for the environmental impact of road transport”.

The Scoreboard aims to give a snapshot of the diversity of member state performance in transport matters across Europe and to help member states identify and address shortcomings, bringing together data from a variety of sources (such as Eurostat, the European Environment Agency, the World Bank and the OECD).
The Commission said it intends to refine the indicators further in the years to come, in dialogue with member states, industry and other stakeholders.
