Greek Energy Minister to hold contacts in Cyprus

Greek Minister of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Yiannis Maniatis will have a series of contacts with Cypriot government officials during the coming days, on the sidelines of his participation in the 3rd Cyprus Energy Symposium, that will take place in Nicosia on Thursday and Friday.

The Forum is organized by the Institute of Energy for South East Europe (IENE).

Maniatis will be received on Thursday morning by Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades. He will also have meetings with House President Yiannaki Omirou, Foreign Minister Ioanni Kasoulides, Energy, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis and Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nicos Kouyialis. He will attend the official dinner of the Energy Symposium while on Friday he will address the Symposium.

The Symposium will focus on "The Role of Cyprus in the New European Energy Strategy” and will also cover a variety of energy issues such as oil and gas exploration, the regional oil and natural gas markets, the electricity markets as well as Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and energy efficiency.
