Cyprus trade deficit declines in 9M 2013

The trade deficit in Cyprus sawa big decrease in the first nine months of 2013, down by 900 mln euros in relation to the corresponding period of 2012, according to the data released by Eurostat.

The total value of Cyprus exports during January – September reached 1.1 bln euros, an increase of 10% compared with the corresponding period of 2012. Imports were down 19% to 3.5 bln euros from 4.3 bln in the same period last year.

The total trade deficit of Cyprus in the first eight months amounted to 2.4 bln euro from 3.3 bln in the same period of 2012.
