Kuwait has reaffirmed its great interest to invest in Cyprus, however the type of these investments still needs to be specified, Cyprus Finance Minister Harris Georgiadis has said.

Georgiadis is accompanying Cyprus President in his two-day visit to Kuwait, with the aim, inter alia, to attract investments.
Speaking to the press Wednesday, FinMin said that the government, with great consistency, is implementing a policy that will correct all those elements that have led the Cyprus economy in such a difficult position.

He said that undoubtedly there are prospects for cooperation between Cyprus and Kuwait adding that Cyprus’ investment prospects have been reaffirmed during this visit to Kuwait, which he described as very important.
FinMin pointed out that we must all realize that we need to adopt a more extrovert approach and highlight all these aspects that make Cyprus an attractive investment destination.

He went on to say that, Kuwait’s interest must get a more specific form and this will be achieved by maintaining and enhancing the contacts of the two sides.
FinMin said that a new window has now opened and we must take advantage of the opportunities that are presented, in both a private and interstate level.

He said that during the contacts and talks in Kuwait, the Cyprus government has explained the serious challenges the economy is faced with, adding that the policy aims in stressing the importance of the island as a business and investment destination. The Cyprus Minister also added that the government does not wish at this point to create temporary impressions in the public opinion, but rather it works hard in order to specify and finalize the forms of the investments that will restart our economy.
