The economic crisis which Cyprus is facing at present can and will be overcome, the International Real Estate Federation FIABCI President Flavio Conzaga Nunes believes.

Speaking during a visit to the southern coastal town Larnaca, he said the city is strategically convenient with an international airport which serves professionals.

“There is a very important real estate market here and in spite of the economic crisis we haven’t seen prices so depressed, so the market has kept its price, the crisis will be overcome, everything goes up or down, so this is a matter of time, and you will overcome the situation,” he said.

FIABCI creates opportunities for business, he explained, adding that his visit to Cyprus is most important for him as the head of the organization and the world president.

“It is important to be in countries where FIABCI has representation, to get involved with the local problems, collect information and spread it out among our members and try to encourage local professionals to join FIABCI,” he pointed out.

He urged local professionals to visit and participate in international events because FIABCI can provide information to its members in order to benefit their business.

Larnaca mayor Andreas Louroujadis said he outlined to the FIABCI president his plans and ongoing development projects, saying Cyprus will continue to work towards development and attracting foreign investment.
