Larnaca and Paphos airports are expected to facilitate more than 2,500 flights in the coming two weeks, until August 25, carrying around 400,000 passengers.

Hermes Cyprus Airports spokesman Adamos Aspris said that more than 1,800 flights will be operated at Larnaca, with more than 280,000 passengers. The airport in Paphos will accomodate 700 flights with 120,000 passengers.
He added that, according to passenger data, Greece is again the most popular destination for Cypriot travellers, with Kavala, Mykonos, Santorini, Thessaloniki and Skiathos ranking in the first positions. Other European destinations, such as Barcelona and Budapest are also very popular, Aspris noted.
He said that the number of passengers traveling has declined by 5.9% since the start of the year, and said that the data show that 2013 is “quite a difficult year”.
