Finance Minister Harris Georgiades is meeting anew this morning in Nicosia with the Heads of the Troika mission in Cyprus (European Commission, ECB, IMF), to assess the first week of the delegation’s contacts is the island.

Implementation of MoU provisions concerning the public sector and progress of structural reforms will also be on the agenda of the meeting.
The Troika mission arrived on July 17 in Cyprus, to review progress in the country’s program, following a 10 bln euros bailout agreement reached last March.
Today’s meeting is expected to be attended by Constantinos Petrides, Under Secretary to the President and high ranking Ministry officials, while the Governor of Cyprus’ Central Bank will be absent, for personal reasons.

As CNA learns, the Troika mission will scrutinize in separate meetings the early retirement scheme for Bank of Cyprus employees, and meet with the Union of Bank Employees and representatives of foreign banks in Cyprus.
Public health will concern another meeting, later today. The Troika delegation is expected to discuss public health policy and spending in the afternoon, with officials from the Ministries of Health and Finance, while Troika technocrats will also meet with the Health Insurance Organization.
