A partnership agreement was signed here today between CNA and Europarltv with a view to bring Cypriot citizens closer to EU activities.

Speaking after the signing of the agreement Europarltv Director Giorgos Kasimatis expressed his satisfaction over the fact that this is Europarltv’s 150th partnership agreement.

It is truly an honour to have Cyprus News Agency as a partner, he noted, adding that the partnership will be one of substance.

Kasimatis further expressed the hope that through CNA the European Parliament will be able to be closer to Cypriot citizens.

“This is our goal”, he said.

On his part CNA Acting Director and Editor in Chief Giorgos Penintaex said this partnership starts with the best omens.

“We are looking forward to this cooperation,” he noted, adding that the Cyprus News Agency may be one of the smallest ones in Europe but it is now beginning to delve into the multimedia arena.

“It is our first partnership agreement with such a service and therefore of great importance to us”, Penintaex added.

He highlighted the fact that via this partnership CNA and all Cyprus media will be able to come closer to Europe and to the European Parliament.

Both men thanked the European Parliament’s Office in Cyprus for its work and contribution to the partnership agreement.

Since its launch in 2008, EuroparlTV – Parliament’s web television – has built up a network of national, regional and local media and production companies, associations, universities, think tanks and public authorities, from all 27 EU Member States and from non-EU countries.
