An Estonian international footballer has been suspended by his club side amid allegations he was involved in drug trafficking.

Oliver Konsa, who has earned 20 caps for the Estonian national football team, found himself among the three men arrested by the country’s police in connection with drug smuggling, Estonian newspaper Postimees reports.
Details of the case are still to be revealed but it is reportedly linked with trafficking cocaine in volume.
The player’s current club, the national champions Nomme Kalju, reacted immediately.
“Konsa has been suspended until the facts become available,” the club’s website quoted president Kuno Tehva.
“It’s very sad, we are extremely shocked,” added Nomme Kalju’s sporting director Sergey Terehhov.
Local media speculate that Konsa has already withdrawn himself from the Estonian squad for upcoming friendlies against Oman and the United Arab Emirates, citing personal reasons.
It’s not the first time an Estonian sportsman has been linked with drug smuggling. In 2005, rally driver Arvo Laksberg was sentences to nine-and-a-half years in prison when police found 25kg of hashish in his garage.
