Cyprus President to pay official visit to Jordan

Cyprus President Demetris Christofias will pay an official visit to Jordan capital Amman, between September 5 and 7.

The visit comes after an official invitation by King Abdullah II of Jordan, Government Spokesman Stefanos Stefanou told Cyprus News Agency on Thursday.
President Christofias will be accompanied by Ministers and other high-ranking state officials, as well as a business delegation.

It is expected that, inter alia, two Memoranda of Cooperation will be signed during the visit. The Memoranda will be signed between the Cyprus and Amman Stock Exchanges, as well as between the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its Jordanian counterpart body.
The two countries are also expected to sign a Cooperation Agreement in the area of Health, while President Christofias and Jordanian Prime Minister Fayez al-Tarawneh will address the opening of a business meeting.
