Cypriot APOEL qualify for last 16 in Champions League

For the first time in European football history a Cypriot team qualify for last 16 in the Champions League.

APOEL of Nicosia defeated 2-0 here by Shakhtar Donetsk but finished first in Group G with nine points.

The Ukrainian team scored both goals in the second half, at GSP Stadium. Luiz Adriano opened the score in the 62nd minute and Yevhen Selesnyov doubled the goals in the 78th minute.

Zenit St Petersburg also qualified for last 16 after their 0-0 draw against Porto in Portugal. Porto qualified for last 32 of the Europa League.

Shakhtar finished last in Group G with five points.
