Cyprus industrial turnover up 5.5% in August

The Cyprus industrial turnover index reached 134.4 in August 2008 (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 5.5% compared to August 2007.
Industrial turnover comprises mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply.
For the period January-August 2008 the index recorded a rise of 14.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the same period industrial output rose by 3.5%.
For manufacturing, the turnover index for August 2008 reached 115.6, recording a decrease of 0.3% compared to August 2007.
