Cyprus to host OSCE meeting on Human Trafficking

A Regional Operational Meeting on combating Human Trafficking and Money Laundering in the Mediterranean Rim Region will be hosted by Cyprus between 18 -19 September 2008, in Larnaca.
The meeting is organised by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the government of Cyprus.
The meeting aims at discussing the threats and challenges of money laundering and human trafficking, to explore the opportunities for co-operation and to identify possible joint initiatives and best international practices.
Experts from 24 countries, mostly of the Mediterranean Region will participate in the meeting, together with the representatives from OSCE and UNODC.
Cypriot Minister of Interior Neoklis Sylikiotis, Attorney General Petros Clerides and OSCE Coordinator on Economic and Environmental Activities Bernard Snoy will address the meeting.
