Nicosia Municipality to mark Beijing Olympics

Nicosia Municipality in collaboration with the Chinese embassy here will organise on July 29 an event to mark the start of the Beijing Olympic Games next month.

The event entitled ''Olympic Games – Beijing 2008'', to be held in the Gardens of the City Hall, will include the projection of a film showing the new Olympic installations in Beijing and the changes made in the Chinese capital.

The official mascots of the Beijing Olympic Games, called Fuwa, will be present during the event, which is open to the public.

Cyprus participates in the Beijing Olympics, to start on August 8, with 18 athletes.
