ΑNTWERP2014: Four Cypriot swimmers “adopted” by Alpha Bank

Alpha Bank, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program and its sensitivity towards human values and needs, participated in the Special Olympics Cyprus’ Program, “Adopt an athlete”. As of this, the Bank “adopted” four swimmers who took part in the European Special Olympics 2014, held from 9 to 21 September 2014, in Antwerp, Belgium.

The Cyprus Mission was comprised of 22 athletes who participated in athletics, cycling, gymnastics, bocce and swimming. Once again, the athletes who participated made Cyprus proud, not only with their success and the medals they have won, but mainly with their effort and perseverance.

The Cyprus Mission has won a total of 25 medals, of which, eleven gold, seven silver and seven bronze. The swimming team in particular, has won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The European Games attended amongst others, the Minister of Education and Culture, Mr. Costas Kadis, the President of the CSO, Mrs. Clea Papaellina, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in Brussels, Mr. Antonis Grivas.
