The Cyprus government, Noble Energy and its partners Delek Drilling and Avner Oil will simultaneously announce today the official preliminary results of the appraisal drilling for hydrocarbon reserves in block 12 of the Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EZZ).

Noble’s announcement will be made at the same time as Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lakkotrypis briefs media representatives on the results.

Earlier, the Minister will brief the political parties on the results of the appraisal drilling.

Exploratory drilling carried in 2011 out by Noble Energy at block 12 revealed "an estimated gross resource range of 5 to 8 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), with a gross mean of 7 Tcf.“

Cyprus has signed contracts with the ENI/KOGAS consortium for hydrocarbons exploration in blocks 2, 3 and 9 in the EEZ of Cyprus, as well as with French TOTAL for blocks 10 and 11.
