The IMF gave no information on Thursday on the course of negotiations between the Cypriot government and the Troika, despite sources in Washington saying that there were obstacles to reaching an agreement, which at the time being appear unsurpassable.

Asked about obstacles in reaching an agreement for Cyprus and reported lack of satisfaction with the results of the talks, IMF External Relations Deputy Spokesman William Murray said he was "not aware of any atmosphere along these lines."

"The mission is ongoing and we`ll see what happens," he said.

Murray said "the authorities have requested financial assistance and part of the process is we go in, we look at things and we make value judgments, we sit down and talking to the authorities."

"That`s where we are right now. I don`t really have any further guidance on timing or anything further on Cyprus," he added.
