The Foreign Minister of Greece Demetris Avramopoulos will pay Cyprus an official visit on July 1 and 2. This would be Avramopoulos first official visit outside Greece under his new capacity.

Greek FM will hold a series of contact in Cyprus.

According to an official announcement, Avramopoulos will be received by Cyprus President Demetris Christofias, while he will also meet with House President Yiannakis Omirou, Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis and party leaders.

The Greek Foreign Minister will also visit the graves of Greek Cypriots hung by the British during the 1950’s anti-colonial struggle, and lay wreath at the “Tomb of Makedonitissa”, the war memorial and military cemetery where many Greeks and Greek Cypriots who died during the 1974 Turkish invasion are buried.
