Cyprus trade deficit shrinks in H1

The trade deficit in Cyprus fell to EUR 2,461.8 mln in January-June 2011 compared with EUR 2,648.0 mln in the corresponding period of 2010, according to the Statistical Service.
Total imports/arrivals in January-June 2011 amounted to EUR 3,161.0 mln compared with EUR 3,185.8 mln in January-June 2010.
Total imports comprise imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states of the EU.
Total exports/dispatches in January-June 2011 reached EUR 699.9 mln compared with EUR 537.8 mln in January-June 2010,
Total exports comprise exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states of the EU.
In June alone total imports/arrivals were valued at EUR 547.1 mln, while total exports/dispatches, including stores and provisions, amounted to EUR 125,2 mln.
Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, reached EUR 54.7 mln whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, amounted to EUR 70.6 mln.
