The production of cows’ milk for April 2011 decreased to 12,750 tons from 12,960 tons in the previous month.
Compared with the same month of the previous year, the production of cows’ milk recorded an insignificant decrease of 0.1%.
The quantities of milk products for February 2011 reached to 5,220 tons of drinking milk, 340 tons of cream, 250 tons of acidified milk and 130 tons of cheese from cow’s milk.

Eggs and chicks

The number of eggs for hatching placed in incubation in April reached 59,550 eggs for laying and 1,359,400 eggs for meat.
Compared with the previous month the eggs for laying recorded a decrease of 6% and the eggs for meat recorded a decrease of 20%.
Compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, the number of eggs placed in incubation for laying recorded a decrease of 57%.
Eggs for meat recorded a decrease of 10%.
Chicks used for laying in July decreased to 7,310 compared with 39,440 in March and chicks used for meat decreased to 1,066,100 from 1,207,480 in the previous month.
Compared with the corresponding month of 2010 chicks used for laying recorded a significant decrease of 80% and chicks used for meat recorded a decrease of 10%.

Slaughterings

The number of animals slaughtered in March 2011 recorded a decrease for almost all kinds of animals compared with the previous month.
Compared with the same month of the previous year slaughtering fell by 3.9% for cattle, pigs by 7.1%, sheep by 22%, goats by 75%, whereas and poultry rose by 9%.
