Cypriots who wanted to leave Libya are back home

All Cypriots who have, to date, expressed their wish to leave Libya have done so, Foreign Minister Marcos Kyprianou said on Sunday.
In a statement Kyprianou stated that on Saturday evening 11 Cypriot nationals who were working in Jalo area in Libya were successfully airlifted following an operation involving German military planes, adding that Cypriots and other EU nationals evacuated were flown last night to Crete.
“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus I wish to convey our gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for its assistance and tangible support in safely evacuating the eleven Cypriot citizens”, he notes.
