Cyprus Construction prices rose 2.7% in 2010

Construction prices rose by 2.73% over the year earlier in 2010 according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service.
There was a wide variety among various materials, however.
Among the highest increases were bitumen asphalt (29.83%), copper pipes (26.31%), asphalt concrete (premix), which rose by 24.94% and building iron, which rose by 19.00%.
Moderate rises were recorded by steel pipes (7.87%) and wires and cables (5.95%).
On the other hand, the price of a new bathroom appears to have fallen, with the price of sanitary ware of porcelain: down 5.67%, decorative stone down 4.93%, pavement slabs, mosaics and bricks of concrete falling 3.55% and air conditioners down 3.34%.
In December alone the index rose by 0.14 % over the previous month.
