Trio Presidency delegations discuss ways of further cooperation

Delegations of the Ministries of Labour and Social Insurance of Poland, Denmark and Cyprus, held a joint coordination meeting in Warsaw to exchange views on the 18-month program of the Trio Presidency.

The meeting took place on December 14, between State Secretaries and Directors General of Ministries of Labour and Social Insurance of Poland, Denmark and Cyprus at the initiative of Minister of Labour and Social Policy of Poland Radoslaw Mleczko, whose country will assume EU Presidency during the second half of 2011.

Cyprus was represented by Director General of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, George Papageorgiou, head of a four-member delegation.

The three delegations discussed ways of further cooperation and regular contacts in the coming months and the 18-month presidency of the Trio, from the second half of 2011 until the second half of 2012.

They also discussed main principles for further promotion of the objectives of social policy, employment policy, measures to address the aging population and the priorities of the EU Strategy 2020.
