Cyprus inflation down in November

Consumer price inflation fell to 1.5% in November from 3.0% in October 2010 and 1.4% in November 2009, according to the Statistical Service.
The Statistical Service said that the main reason for both the fall in November and the rise in the preceding months was prices of fresh vegetables and fruit.
Compared with the previous month, consumer prices fell by 0.37% in November.
For the period January-November 2010 the CPI rose by 2.5% compared with the corresponding period of 2009.
Meanwhile, the EU-harmonised inflation rate (HICP) dropped to 1.7% compared with 3.2% in October 2010 and 1.0% in November 2009.
For the period January- November 2010, the HICP recorded an increase of 2.6% compared with the corresponding period of 2009.
