Cyprus travel abroad rebounds 10.8% in May

The number of residents of Cyprus returning from a trip abroad in May 2010 rebounded by 10.8%, having dropped by 10.7% in April no doubt largely as a result of volcanic ash disruption.
On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, 95,660 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in May 2010 compared to 86,350 in the corresponding month last year.
There was an increase of 15.9% in the number trips of residents to Greece (from 25,890 in May 2009 to 30,011 in May 2010), which is the favourite destination among travellers.
However, there was a fall of 0.5% to 24,086 in trips to the UK, which is the second destination.
