Cyprus Airways flights to Greek destinations have been cancelled due to the 24 hour general strike across Greece on Wednesday.

Spokesman for the national carrier, Kyriakos Kyriakou told CNA today that extra flights have been scheduled from midnight tonight to serve the passengers who were affected by today’s strike.

A total of 12 flights to Greece, eight to and from Athens, two to Salonica and another two to Heraclion and Rhodes have been cancelled.

“We have scheduled special flights to transport the passengers who will not manage to travel today”, said Kyriakou.

All passengers have been informed by CY or their tour operators on the new schedule and for this reason “we do not anticipate any inconvenience”, he concluded.
