Cyprus Former President Papadopoulos’ condition “satisfactory”

The state of health of former President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos is satisfactory, according to a statement, issued on Tuesday by the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital.

The statement said the former President continues to be treated at the ICU and “diagnostic examinations have been completed and he is receiving the prescribed treatment”.

“His condition is deemed satisfactory”, the statement concludes.

Meanwhile, in a statement on behalf of the former President and the family, Papadopoulos’ children express gratitude and appreciation to the “hundreds of friends and compatriots who share our concern these days and express their wishes and love in every manner”.

“The wishes and love of all accompany our father and give him strength and courage to overcome yet another painful experience”, the statement noted.

They also thank the Ministry of Health and the medical and nursing staff at the Nicosia General Hospital and the Evangelistria clinic where the former President was receiving treatment from Wednesday until Saturday when he was transferred to the state hospital.
