Construction price inflation moderates slightly in October

Inflation in construction materials prices moderated slightly in October, rising by 14.4% compared with 15.5% in September and a peak of 16.9% in July.
The price of construction materials is heavily influenced by the price of petroleum.
Compared with the previous month the price index of construction materials fell by 0.96% in October.
For the period January – October 2008, the index recorded an increase of 12.57% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
