Cyprus outward travel up 15.2% y/y in April

The number of residents of Cyprus travelling abroad in April reached 91,675, marking a rise of 15.2% on the same period of 2007.
The most popular destination was Greece, with 37,284 visits in April, followed by the UK, with 15,703, and Russia, with 3,265.
Visits to fellow eurozone member Greece rose by 37.8% compared with April 2007, but fell by 7.9% and 1.1% respectively to the UK and Russia.
In the first four months of the year the majority of travellers were females, accounting for 57.9% of the total.
Fifty-nine percent of trips were for holidays and 24.2% for business.
