Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister Otmar Hasler said on Thursday that his country aimed to conclude a tax fraud agreement with the European Union, in the midst of a tax evasion scandal concerning the alpine country.”

With respect to the current tax policy questions that are broadly and controversially debated in Europe, we want to play our part in finding a reasonable agreement,” Hasler said in a statement.

“Our aim is to achieve a successful conclusion of the comprehensive tax fraud agreement that is currently under negotiation,” he said after signing a deal on border-free and police policy in Brussels.

The statement added that the negotiations on the tax fraud deal were already well advanced.
