The first international seminar of the EuroMed Info Centre (www.euromedinfo.eu), which is managed in Brussels by Cyprus-based Action Global Communications, is to be held in Nicosia next Monday, March 5.

The one-day seminar will focus on the work of the EuroMed Info Centre, a European Commission-funded project established in October 2005, and will look at how nine Action Global Communications offices in the Middle East work in coordination with their Nicosia and Brussels headquarters to raise the profile of EC-funded programmes and projects in the Mediterranean partner countries.

The seminar will be introduced by Tony Christodoulou, CEO of Action Global Communications. John Vickers, Project Leader of the Brussels-based centre which was established to support and complement the activities of the Commission’s Regional Information and Communications Programme, will speak about the centre’s current operations and future development. Chrystelle Lucas, Programme Manager of the European Commission’s EuropeAid Cooperation Office (AIDCO), will talk about why the Commission funds the EuroMed Info Centre and what it expects from it, followed by a presentation of other EC-funded projects in the Mediterranean region.

Presentations of the work carried out by Action Global Communications to support communications flows between Brussels and the European Commission Delegations in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, will be given by Action representatives from each country.

Action Global Communications, which was selected to manage the EuroMed Info Centre contract from among a large number of public relations agencies around the world, opened an office in Brussels in October 2005 to provide PR support for Cypriot companies operating in the Belgian capital, for Cypriot and Greek MEP’s and to expand its involvement in European Union projects.
