Cyprus residents travel abroad declines in Oct

The number of Cyprus residents travelling abroad during October reached 70.871 for a drop of 1.4% compared to 69.917 a year ago in the same month, the Statistical Service announced.

During October 2006 there was an increase of 13.1% on the trips of residents to Greece (from 27,478 in October 2005 to 31,069 in October 2006) and 9.4% increase to the United Kingdom (from 10,741 to 11,752). However a significant decrease of 68.0% was recorded on trips of residents to Lebanon (1,009 in October 2006 compared to 3,155 in October 2005) as well as 55.2% decrease to Syria (1,154 compared to 2,578 in October 2005) and 7.7% decrease to Russia (3,936 compared to 4,266 last October).
