Carl Yao to Present on Managing Terminology to Meet Global Regulatory Compliance Requirements
BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CSOFT International Ltd., a global communications company and leading provider of multilingual globalization services and language technology solutions, announced today that it will present at the DITA Content Management Strategies conference at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence from April 15 to 17. CSOFT’s Executive Vice President for Global Strategy Carl Yao will lead a discussion on terminology management and global regulatory compliance on the second day as part of the Information Design & Development track. CSOFT will also be exhibiting localization and language technology solutions in the Main Ballroom of the venue all three days.
“In this information-driven era,” said Yao, “efficiency in content management is fundamental, especially for organizations working across multiple languages and countries. More importantly, companies must maintain the equivalent of a digital paper record that tracks important content development activities, such as the creation, review, revision, translation and approval of key product terminology. It can be overwhelming for companies to simultaneously confront content development and terminology change management across languages, but properly implemented technology tools can accelerate and streamline the overall process.”
Yao’s presentation topic will focus on managing multilingual terminology to meet international regulatory compliance requirements by maintaining a digital paper trail that records and tracks content changes globally. The core message of this discussion is inspired by real-world examples of terminology errors that resulted in penalties, lawsuits, increased time to market, and in some cases, the closing of operations. During his talk, Yao will detail how one company is now facing $1 billion in damages due to poor terminology translations. Yao will also cover best practices for managing multilingual terminology in the cloud.
The CMS/DITA North America conference is a leading content management event that focuses on authoring, effective content management, quality content production, and the technologies that support these services. This year’s conference is organized into four tracks: Information Design and Development, Technical Solutions, Management, and Emerging Technologies. Yao’s presentation will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 16 in the Information Design & Development track.
“The CMS/DITA conference is always an excellent opportunity for CSOFT to showcase our expertise in multilingual content and terminology management,” said Matt Arney, CSOFT’s Vice President for Localization, who will be exhibiting localization and content management solutions in the Main Ballroom of the venue. “In many cases, poor terminology management and translation can result in significant financial losses for a company. Companies can achieve tremendous cost and time savings by recycling terminology and translated content, which also results in increased consistency and quality. We’re excited to be able to participate in and contribute to the content management dialogue at CMS/DITA.”
