Research and Markets: End User Survey for Telematics Consumer Needs in South East Asia - 2012: A Survey of Consumer Needs in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/qr7brg/end_user_survey) has announced the addition of the "End User Survey for Telematics Consumer Needs in South East Asia: A Survey of Consumer Needs in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand" report to their offering.

South East Asia is one of the fastest growing markets for new car sales, and is seen by many OEMs as a key strategic region for growing their volumes and revenues.

Despite lower incomes, consumers in many of these markets are showing equal or greater levels of expectations in terms of living a Digital Lifestyle'. Penetration of smartphones is growing rapidly, and consumers have become accustomed to being always-connected.

The big question, however, is what expectations (if any) consumers will have for staying connected whilst in the car.

For this reason SBD has undertaken the largest survey of consumer attitudes towards telematics services in South East Asia so far - covering 2,400 recent car buyers in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Additionally, we have developed a new methodology for more accurately gauging consumer needs in these markets based on personality and situational factors. This is a unique methodology that we believe can be expanded further and applied to understand consumer characteristics in other emerging markets.
