Cyprus merchants prefer IMSP for card payments - survey

14 May, 2014

A survey conducted by RAI Consultants in March for the purpose of evaluating the card payment providers that operate in Cyprus, shows that IMSP customers maintain a very high satisfaction rating both for services as well as transaction speed, claiming this is because of IMSP’s state of the art secure payment technology.

The survey found that 92% of IMSP customers stated they had absolutely no problems with the service offered to them and 7 out of 10 chose to use the IMSP terminals exclusively due to their lower charges, their speed in processing transactions, customer service and technical support.
Furthermore, 8 out of 10 IMSP customers confirmed that they would recommend IMSP to other merchants, while 86% of merchants declared that they are completely satisfied with IMSP and are not interested in changing service provider in the near future.
IMSP www.imsp.com was launched in early 2009 and taken over in 2012 by FBME Card Services (FBMECS), part of the FBME Bank Group.
The island’s dominant provider has been JCC Card Payments, established in 1989, which is 75% owned by Bank of Cyprus, with the balance held jointly by Hellenic Bank, National Bank of Greece (Cyprus), Piraeus Bank and Alpha Bank.
