Cyprus President in Athens for contacts with political leadership

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades arrived in Athens after attending the EU-Africa summit in Brussels.
On Friday, president Anastasiades will hold a series of contacts with leaders of opposition parties in Athens to inform them on the course of negotiations on the Cyprus problem, Government Spokesman Christos Stylianides has told CNA.

The President will also meet his counterpart Karolos Papoulias. Earlier in the day, the two presidents will unveil a monument dedicated to the Cyprus national liberation struggle of 1955-1959.

The President will hold separate meetings with Panos Kamenos, President of the right-wing anti-austerity party "Independent Greeks", Demetris Koutsoumpa, General Secretary of the Greek Communist Party, Fotis Kouvelis, President of the Democratic Left and Alexis Tsipras, President of the Leader of the Coalition of the Radical Left.

The President is accompanied by Government Spokesman Stylianides and the Director of his Diplomatic Office, Nicos Christodoulides. He returns home Friday evening.
