Euro zone finance ministers will meet in Brussels on Sunday evening to discuss a possible rescue package for Cyprus, the head of the Eurogroup said in tweet.
"Tomorrow 6pm #eurogroup on #cyprus," read a tweet from Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Dutch finance minister and president of the Eurogroup of 17 euro-zone finance ministers.
Cyprus finance minister Michalis Sarris said on Saturday a deal was close with the Troika of international lenders after parliament approved a package of nine measures late Friday. Banking sector officials, central bank chief Panicos Demetriades and negotiators from the ECB, EU and IMF were working out a deal that would include splitting troubled Popular Laiki into a "good" and "bad" bank, while depositors of savings larger than 100,000 euros at Bank of Cyprus would pay a levy to "bail in" the bank and avoid other rescue or nationalisation.
