CYPRUS: Increase of tourist arrivals in August 2012

Arrivals of tourists in Cyprus reached 363.573 in August 2012 compared to 337.013 in August 2011, recording an increase of 7,9%, according to the results of a Passengers Survey issued on Monday by the Statistical Service.

An increase of 55,5% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia (from 50.989 in August 2011 to 79.291 in August 2012), 6,9% increase from Sweden (from 17.344 to 18.545), 13,8% increase from Germany (from 11.960 to 13.616) and 1,9% increase from Norway (from 9.919 to 10.110 this year).

On the other hand, a decrease of 7,0% in tourist arrivals was recorded from the United Kingdom (146.136 in August 2012 compared to 157.105 in August 2011) and 7,8% decrease from Greece (12.251 compared to 13.290 last year).
